Closed for the season…see you in the spring!
I could lie and say that this is a video of my wake-boarding skills…but its clearly a Dutch-man. BRIAN!!!!
As promised - some pictures of the finished product!
I personally like the cedar used above the windows and the cupola with our weather vane - below:

A very large dock on the west side of the boathouse makes for beautiful sunsets, and a perfect tanning area for the ladies:

Architectural details…

The entrance to the boathouse, our multi-coloured Adirondack chairs, and the west windows:

The large boat lift for our 24ft boat. A very simple system - lower the frame into the water, drive the boat in centered, and lift! There are 4 feet that slide out so that all the weight is transferred from the cables to the dock.

The smaller lift with my fishing boat loaded. You may notice that I removed the windshield! (we had a few minor incidents with the windshield)

Check out the recent purchases:

If you have been following my posts, there could only be one reason why I bought all this gear…I’ll let you figure it out.
A while back, I mentioned that we needed to select a weather vane for the top of our Cupola. Well here it is:

Definitely unique, but doesn’t tell a story. I just thought is was pretty cool - now a lot of cottagers cruise by to get a peek at our dragon. We named him Norbert.
I joked about hooking up a small propane tank to a copper tube that exits out of the dragon’s mouth so that we can shoot flames to scare off nosy people.
The boathouse will be complete this week so I will upload a picture once its 100%. Can’t wait.
Here is some of the boathouse progress over the last few weeks. It is coming along nicely. At approximately 1200 sqft there are no complaints about space. Below is a picture of the frame and roof - around mid may:

Here is a picture of the interior…lots of space for my beer fridge! Oh yea and 2 boats.

A picture from the water:

The electrical work was completed over 2 weeks, and after a few hiccups, it all seems well. We need only a final inspection which will occur after the boat lifts, and garage doors are installed and wired in. Below is a pic of one bank of pot lights (the electricians out there will appreciate this):

Our huge 60 AMP sub panel as a work in progress. All the wires were later run correctly and the main was brought in:

I will post another picture when the boathouse is complete - look forward to a great summer with our new boathouse and boat? (more on that later)…
Some of you may know that I am taking the summer off to enjoy some free time before I start my career. So I find myself spending a lot of time at my cottage…
There has been a lot of progress since my last post:
After letting the boat dry out for a couple of weeks, and some blow drying, I got it started and running as if it never spent that weekend on the lake-bed. However, I did not do much cruising as my attention turned to this:

This old boat has been sitting on our property ever since we got the place 3 years ago. We ignored it because we assumed it was old and broken. However recently, I took the tarp off and it turns out that the hull is in great shape and there is definitely a lot more room than the other boat.
I made a deal with my dad that if I got the boat started, I could have it…drum roll… it started! Not so exciting? well the engine on it was manufactured in 1964 so I think it is an accomplishment. However, I am waiting on a few small parts for the motor from a parts dealer in Seattle. It is tough to find parts for such an old motor. Did I mention it is a 75hp - double the power of my other boat.
My plan now is to put it in the water to test it out. If all goes well, I will put in bench seating, a stereo system, some lighting, and a new paint job - its going to be ssssicck yeeeeehaa!
I need a name to paint on the boat suggestions?
